The Initial Consultation

A Gentle Introduction (40–45 Minutes)

Your Initial Consultation is a relaxed, pressure-free introduction to the process. We begin by exploring what has brought you to hypnotherapy and what you hope to achieve. This is the only time the past is revisited, and even then, it is only touched upon enough to understand your needs and how best to support you moving forward. You do not need to relive trauma to heal from it.

The "Aha!" Moment During this session, you will receive a simple, easy-to-understand explanation of how the brain works. Many clients find this part incredibly enlightening, often describing it as an "aha moment" where the puzzle pieces suddenly click into place. You will leave understanding why you have been feeling this way and, more importantly, how you can create meaningful change.

Demystifying Trance We will also introduce the concept of trance. It is important to know that trance is not mind control; you will not be clucking like a chicken or giving away your PIN number! Trance is a completely natural, familiar state of focused attention that you drift in and out of several times a day—like when you are driving or lost in a good book. It is simply a state where your mind is relaxed and open to positive, solution-focused suggestions.

Your Toolkit You will leave this session with a clear plan, an understanding of the approximate number of sessions required, and access to a relaxation MP3 to support you at home.

Subsequent Sessions

Building Momentum (50 Minutes – 1 Hour)

Once your treatment plan begins, each session follows a consistent, evidence-based structure designed to help you progress steadily.

Part 1: The Positive Review (approx. 30 mins) We do not start by digging into problems. Instead, we focus on your strengths, successes, and the uplifting moments from your week—no matter how small. Combined with relevant neuroscience, this conversation helps you understand what is happening in your brain when things go well, reinforcing your ability to build positive change.

Part 2: Deep Relaxation (approx. 20 mins) The second half of the session involves guided relaxation using hypnotic trance. Through gentle language patterns and therapeutic metaphors, your mind is encouraged to settle, refocus, and visualize the future you are working towards. Clients often leave these sessions feeling calm, refreshed, and gaining a sense of clarity about their next steps.

How We Work together

Building Momentum (50 Minutes – 1 Hour)

Flexibility to Suit Your Life Consistency is key to maintaining momentum, so weekly sessions are generally recommended. However, life happens, and flexibility is available to accommodate your situation when needed.
