How long does it take to see results from hypnotherapy?

The timeframe varies based on your specific goals and commitment. Many clients experience an early "aha moment" and increased clarity during the Initial Consultation. While this insight can be powerful, lasting change typically happens through ongoing work. For some issues, like general phobias, treatment can often be completed in a block of 4 sessions. For deeper challenges, most clients require between 6-12 sessions, sometimes more. Consistent commitment is key to lasting results.

Can Solution Focused Hypnotherapy help with weight management or phobias?

Yes, absolutely.

How do I get started with Empowered Minds Hypnotherapy?

Getting started is easy! Simply schedule an Initial Consultation through my website or contact me directly. During the consultation, we'll discuss your goals, share a simple explanation of how the brain works, and determine the approximate number of sessions recommended for you.

What is trance?

The easiest way to explain trance is that it is simply a state of focused deep relaxation (very similar to a daydream). You have likely experienced this natural state many times without realizing it. Have you ever driven to a destination and arrived with no clear memory of the journey? That is a form of trance. It is a perfectly safe, normal state that occurs often throughout the day, whether you are going for a run, getting lost in a good book, or watching a movie. It feels like a pleasant, deep rest for the mind.

Will I get stuck in trance or hypnosis?

Not at all. You remain in control at all times. Even if you drift into a light sleep during the session, you will awaken fully the moment you are spoken to or asked to open your eyes. No one has power over you during hypnosis, and you retain full agency to bring yourself out of the state whenever you choose.

How many sessions will I need?

Because every individual is unique, the number of sessions varies depending on your goals. For most standard therapy needs, meaningful and lasting change typically occurs between 6 to 12 sessions, though some may require more.

Smoking/Vaping Cessation: This is different and usually requires just one comprehensive 2-hour session.

Phobias: If the phobia is not linked to high levels of general anxiety, these can often be treated in a block of 4 sessions.

Can my mind be read while I am hypnotized?

No. Hypnotherapy is not mind-reading, and you cannot be made to reveal your deepest secrets. Your private thoughts remain your own. You are simply in a state of relaxation where your mind is more open to positive suggestions; you do not lose control of your speech or your secrets.

Will there be a swinging watch?

No, there are no stage tricks or swinging pocket watches here. The sessions are grounded in modern neuroscience. The time is spent explaining how the brain works, helping you identify the positives in your life, and building a clear picture of how you want your future to look. The session then concludes with guided trance work to reinforce those positive shifts.

Are there special powers involved?

There is no magic wand, and there are no supernatural powers at play. I'm a real human being, one who misplaces my car keys just like everyone else. The real "magic" does not come from me; it comes from you. Change happens when you listen, engage, and start retraining your mind to focus on solutions instead of problems. My role is simply to offer guidance and practical tools in a safe environment, to support you as you do the work.

Is it true that not everyone can be hypnotized?

The truth lies with the individual. If you are open to the process and willing to participate, you can enter a hypnotic state. It is not about having a special talent; it is simply about your ability to trust the process and allow yourself to relax. If you want it to work, it can.

Is hypnotherapy scientifically backed?

Yes. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is an evidence-based practice. Numerous studies have demonstrated its effectiveness in treating conditions such as anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and sleep disorders. Furthermore, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) explicitly recognizes and supports the use of hypnotherapy for the treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

Will I be made to cluck like a chicken?

Absolutely not. Solution focused hypnotherapy is completely different from stage hypnosis. You will never be asked to do anything embarrassing, nor can you be made to give up personal information like your phone password or hand over your bank card and PIN. Your moral compass and sense of self-protection remain active throughout the entire experience.
